Leprosy elimination
Leprosy is curable ... and in the Western Pacific Region most countries have eliminated leprosy as a public health problem. Elimination is defined as the prevalence rate of less than one case per 10 000 population. Out of 37 countries and areas, 35 have reached elimination, with eight reporting no cases at all.
